I'll do it tomorrow, but just for my mum. I bought my father's gift a few weeks ago, and I'll order my sister's on Amazon, 'cause I don't think I'll have time to search a specialise store and I really don't know where I could find a such thing ( I want to offer her shurikens, 'cause she has katanas, and she asked me shurikens to complete the decoration of her room, so, I'm gonna buy it ! Yes, I'm the most lovely grand sister in the world ... Oh ! And my ankles are OK xD ). :ange:

So I'm gonna go shopping tomorrow. I'm scared, there will probably be a lot of people, and I hate people who are doing shopping.

And I just remember that ... I've to buy a little something for my friends ! Argh ! My credit card is already crying ...   :pleure:

Oh yes, it does ! Credit cards and Christmas ( or other events ) aren't very good friends ...

Finally, I didn't go shopping on Saturday, because I woke up very late ( just 15 o'clock ... ), and just had time to buy food. I ordered my sister's gift and I really hope it'll be deliver before Christmas. If not, I'll have to buy her another gift, probably a book, and it won't be very original. Indeed, I always offer her books ...

But every book is original ! Well, I cross my fingers for the delivery. And in any case, you can try to say "Santa is a bit late this year, maybe it's crisis time for him too". Or just something about Rudolf, just a bit sick, he is late cause he had a bad caught, nothing important but he isn't here for the 25 december.

That's a tough question... For us, Christmas is more about the movies we watch together, but I would say All I Want For Christmas Is You, a very popular song, but my fav' version is the one by My Chemical Romance:

What will you eat on Christmas eve? :)

Well, I still don't know ^^. The thing is that I will have three Christmas meals: one with my mom, my brother and my sister on Christmas eve, then one on Christmas Day at my grand-parents', and finally on the 26th at my dad's.
No, I stay at home (my grand-parents live in the same town as us), and you?

Youhou, a topic where we can speak english !

As usual, I'm late (I wasn't often on the forum those last weeks, apologize, but lot of things to do!) but anyway, I will answer now^^.

I like critics, so if you want to correct sentences, words, grammar or whatever you want to correct in my posts, feel free to do it ! In my job, I need to improve my english so this topic is a great idea !

And heu, Christmas is over, so I will ask another questions and try to stay on the subject Warsaw-Snow. Who already get their Valentine's present? And, what's for you the most romantic book?

Well, see you soon (and again, great idea the topic in english !)

I don't know yet exactly... some restaurant, but not on the 14th (don't want to pay double bill and don't have the choice for my menu^^), so on 28th, let's go to Prieuré Saint Gery (  :langue:  )

And I don't know nor what I'll receive, neither what I'll give^^ (time to start searching)

Hey guys :D

I've seen this topic but never answered before. Perhaps because I'm lazy or I said "i'll do it later" and I forget... (That's some kind of virus human being have)

Valentine's day is over ! I don't particularly like this day. I've never done anything on this day before and I still don't. It's possible that it can change in the future...

To answer to your question about the most romantic book... I don't know. I love romance, I can't deny it. That's a fact (And I'm sure I love it so much just because I'm single, so I find affection in stories). But to chose the "most" romantic one... It's so hard ! I feel like I still haven't read it. While reading, I've already cried or laughed, and went through a lot a emotions. But I can't say I have known my "most romantic book". Not yet.

Perhaps can you give me some titles :D

Hey Yue !

I can't give you some title of romantic books, because it's not my usual kind of lecture^^.
The most sad book, that make me cry for almost an hour (even now I can't explain it without almost cry again) it's Le rêve, from Zola.
A wonderful book, and for me the most romantic I ever read (well, easy because I think it's the only one^^).

Oh my God... We're like... in May now. May !

And I feel like talking in English ! (I mean, writing, in that case).
Anyway, I really need to say it since I saw this topic : There's something wrong in the title. Someday I just can't handle it, I juste want to edit it so that it would sound more... "normal"? Don't you realize?! "if you please" ! No, no, no... My eyes and my brain can't accept it.

So !

Let's, somehow, return to what we were saying (hard thing to do after more that a month)

I've never heard of "Le Reve" and never read it either. I think I'll take a look to see what it's about, if I will read it one day or not, if I will buy it... Too much "if"   :laught:  At least, I'm sure I'll take a look at it !

Currently, i'm back in my "English mode" : English everywhere ! What I listen, what I watch, what I read... Like some kind of unpredicable and uncurable sickness.

I don't know why but I've realized that I find a book in English more "magical" that a french one. I got more into it. I feel every word in a different way just because they're in english.

It's the same for me, but with tv shows and movies! I can't appreciate something I watch if it is not in english. I love the tongue, the way people speak and everything and it seems fake when it's in french (even for french movies...). There's something magical about this language

Well, I have to say that I'm very surpried to see this kind of topic over here.
As Yue says, I am too in an "all English" period :

Yue a écrit : Currently, i'm back in my "English mode" : English everywhere ! What I listen, what I watch, what I read... Like some kind of unpredicable and uncurable sickness.

I try to improve my English day after day, and I think it's a good idea to give a second birth to this topic.
I've never read a book in English, but I guess if you feel them more "magical", it is because you do your personnal interpretation of the text thanks to your own translation. Then, the text could be felt nearer to you. At less it's my own opinion.

If I may say, I think the best way to make this discussion more active is to focus on a simple theme that everyone can understand and speak about.
Then, I suggest you to speak about your main use of English language in your everyday life.

On my side, I like to play competitive video games. Those types of games who need you to have a lot of focus and a good understanding about their mechanisms to be competitive.
The first feature is easy to master, it depends only to you and your skill to focus on something. In the other hand, the second is harder to apprehend. It asks you to do some research about all the mechanisms of the game, and the current way to play to do the best result.
Obviously, all the advanced explanations are in English, and I can say that the research of those tips are my main way to use English in my everyday life.

Last, but not least, I used to listen a lot of musics, and I like to translate the lyrics by myself to have my own interpretation of the music. (And in parallel to improve my English as well.)
I can say this is my second use of English.

If someone wants to try my suggestion, I'll read you with pleasure. (;

Oh, an english topic ! Nice :D Glad to see that not all French people are disgusted with English !

Frouwenlop a écrit :your main use of English language in your everyday life
Well, let's talk about that, then !
Since it was the main subject of my studies, I must say it was not that complicated to find it in my everyday life ! But it's true that I use it a LOT !
I watch loads of movies and series in English, I can't stand the french voices anymore ! This is a great exercise, which I really recommend ; especially if you use english subtitles as well. And a valuable advantage : this is the best way I know to learn a specific accent !
I also chat in English with my non-french-speaking friends. :)

Uh I can't either... Everything looks faked when people don't say what's on thir lips, and even if there are a lot of people who are very good at dubbing movies, most of the time they don't manage to be as moved and moving as the actors.

I also use english a lot to comunicate with friends all around the world, but I realized it helps a lot IRL because I work in a book shop in a very touristic city... there are a lot of foreigners around ^^

You work in a book shop ? *o*
That's true, the simple fact of living in a touristic city gives you many opportunities to use your English !

And about the dubbed movies, I agree with you. I would also add the fact that the voices themselves are often completely different from the original actor's, and it's so akward to hear voices that don't suit the character at all...
